Bawadi and Emaar enter joint venture for Dhs60bn signature development
Bawadi, a member of Tatweer, and Emaar Properties PJSC, the property developer with a significant presence in 16 countries, have joined hands to develop 70 million sq ft of land in Bawadi, the largest hospitality and leisure development in the world, located in Dubailand.

Bawadi will contribute 6.5 million m2 of land worth $1 billion towards the deal, while Emaar will invest $1.05 billion, which replaces a land-for-stock deal the company scrapped in August after investors drove its shares to a 28-month low because they were kept in the dark about the details.
Emaar Bawadi unveils new project
Emaar Bawadi, the joint venture between Emaar Properties and Bawadi, on Saturday said, it has unveiled Maysan Towers – the first residential tower complex comprising three high-rise apartment towers within the 70 million square feet Asmaran master-planned community in Bawadi.

Elisabetta Gucci stopped over Dubai hotel name plan
Gucci, the luxury-goods company owned by PPR SA, said it won an injunction preventing unauthorised use of the Elisabetta Gucci name, thwarting plans by the great-granddaughter of the founder to open a chain of hotels under her moniker. Elisabetta Gucci plans to open an 87-suite hotel in Dubai by the end of the year, Ziller said last month. Branded as EG Hotels and Resorts by Elisabetta Gucci, the property would showcase furniture designed by her and built by Formitalia Srl, Ziller said.
Smartworld uses APC to power new datacentres
Service provider Smartworld has completed the installation of two Tier-3 rated datacentres in Dubai World Central with the help of power and cooling specialist APC by Schneider Electric. Smartworld is involved with a number of major upcoming technology projects in Dubai and specialises in the aviation sector, with a business unit devoted to airport systems.
